About the Studio

 


The Faculty

Mindy Taylor Jackson is the owner and artistic director for the Jessamine School of Classical Dance. She was a soloist for The Lexington Balley and a member of The Louisville Ballet Company. She has trained with many notable instructors including: Robert Joffrey of Joffrey ballet, Robert Barnett of Atlanta Ballet, Helen Starr and Alun Jones of Louisville Ballet, Gus Giordono and Marcus Alfred of Giordono Jazz Chicago, and Jerry Rose of Beckley Dance Theatre.

She began her teaching career over 20 years ago. She taught for the Lexington Ballet and was the assistant director for the Mullen-Janow School of Dance. In 1991 she began her career in Jessamine COunty with Jessamine County Community Education as the director of the Jessamine Dance Company. Wanting to ring more and better dance opportunities to the community where she grew up, she founded Mindy's Jessamine School of Classical Dance. Mindy teaches all of the core dance classes offered at the studio. This ensures that every student will benefit from her extensive training and teaching experience.

Faye Lieberman, a former studio owner with an extensive background in tap, classical, jazz, and ballet. She's a treasure!

Kristen McDanald, a former student at JSCD, is a Health Analyst with a minor in dance from Morehead State University.

Caitlin Withers has been training at JSCD for 12 years. She will be teaching Hip-Hop!
